A Couple of My Must-Haves.
Thursday, July 16th, 2009Adele is on vacation so it’s up to me to write the blog this week!
Maybe I’ll tell you about a couple of must-haves in my sewing room.
Mary Ellen’s Best Press Scent-Free is a clear starch alternative that makes ironing easier and restores that crisp, new fabric feel to washed fabric. I use it to get those stubborn wrinkles from yardage and also as I’m pressing my pieced blocks. Love it!
Perhaps you’ve been using aerosol spray starch or (as I have often done) pressed the wrong side of the fusible web and have a build-up of gunk on the sole plate of your iron. Dritz Iron-Off Hot Iron Cleaner is amazing. Follow the instructions on the package and you’ll have a shiny, smooth iron in minutes, and it smells nice too!
We’ve just received the cutest Christmas quilt book from Brandywine Design called “A Critter Christmas”. It’s packed full of projects perfect for the little ones in your family. Using the new Shades - Soft Fuse Paper Backed Fusible Web you could easily finish the quilt on the cover by Christmas!
