English Paper Piecing

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

I’ve been working on preparing pieces for a class in English Paper Piecing that the shop is offering this fall. It’s very addictive! Here’s the palette I chose and here are some of the pieces!

Our fall newsletter should arrive in your mailboxes sometime next week! If you see a class you think you’d like to take, call or drop by and register as soon as possible to ensure that a space is available. Some classes fill up quickly!

Also, just a reminder about our annual Pre-Inventory Sale that takes place on Friday August 27th and Saturday August 28th. This is our annual deep discount sale to make way for new fall fabrics. A huge selection of fabrics will be reduced from 40 - 70%!

What Adele Did on Her Summer Vacation

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

I’ve been on holiday for a couple of weeks and thought I’d show you some photos I took at the event ‘Quilts In My Garden’ organized by the Runaway Quilters Guild of Meaford, ON. The quilts were creatively displayed throughout the grounds of six spectacular gardens! The event seemed to run very smoothly and the weather was perfect!

The advance tickets for this fall’s Creativ Festival are now available. If you purchase your tickets online and use the promo code 132QP, you will receive a $1 savings per ticket! We also have tickets available in the shop as well as the complete event brochure. Drop by to pick up yours!

It’s Time to Pick Your Favourite

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

If you’re a chocolate lover you are going to love our 2010 Paint Can Challenge quilts. The theme this year was chocolate and it’s clear that the creators of these creative and yummy quilts all enjoy a taste of it from time to time. We invite everyone to drop by and vote for your favourite quilt. The quilts will be on display in the shop from Saturday May 29th until June 26th.  Winners will be selected by viewer’s choice and will receive prizes of Quilter’s Palette Mad Money worth $200, $100 and $50 for 1st 2nd and 3rd places! Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of the quilts.

We’ve been waiting for this cute fabric line since November, but it was worth the wait. Frolic by Wendy Slotboom from In The Beginning Fabrics is an irresistible collection of squirrels, raccoons, owls, and birds on pale blue, pink or green backgrounds. It would make the most adorable baby quilt.
